Immune
Dali sabihin! Haha. Takte ang babaw ng kaligayahan. Dyan mo minsan masusukat ang pagkatao ko. Pag kinakabog na, nagiging sabaw. Erase. Erase. Erase. Balik sa totoong topic. Ayun nga. Natatakot nga ako. Bakit ako pa ang natatapat sa kamalasan? Why me?! Sunday, February 7, 2010, 12:58 PM
Blurry
Not knowing what to believe is a state I wouldn't want to be in yet it becomes the result of all these musings. I still want to believe. I still want to feel the same way. But why can't actuality go hand in hand with what I am doing? Please stop blurring my reality. I don't know where to look anymore. I know deep in my heart it is my here and now. But please don't make it appear as an illusion. Sunday, January 17, 2010, 10:20 PM
Pink Parker for Cancer
I bought these Parker Jotter Pink Ribbon Retractable Pens last December 31, 2009. It comes with the following features:
(info copied from www.parkerpen.com) Aside from it being posh, this pink jotter is also made for a cause. Parker shall donate 20 cents from the sale of each piece to the City of Hope breast cancer research, treatment and education. So I was able to give $0.40 to the said organization and that is something I am happy about. Fashion actually cares at times. So when it does, be there to support it. Meet the pretty and posh Pinkee, my new Parker Jotter. Labels: breast cancer, parker Wednesday, January 13, 2010, 4:26 AM
Scrap Those Crap Crops
Father and daughter real-life farmville experience at Monsanto, Maui, Hawaii You like Farmville so much, I know. Almost everyone who's got a Facebook account uses this application. Teenagers, moms, dads, professionals, kids; name it, they play Farmville for sure. They plant sunflowers, corn, and carrots (to name a few). Actually, those are the only ones I am quite sure of. I know they plant crops and grow some animals too but... I don't know! Hell, I don't play Farmville! But I just know because I've seen schedules change due to 'harvesting' virtual crops. You see, Farmville is one of those phenomenon that run over the population like an epidemic. One time I overheard two bank tellers talk about tomatoes. I know it's wrong to eavesdrop, but who cares? We were waiting for our turn on that slow motion line in McDo. All the while I was imagining real tomatoes until they said, "shet, wala na talaga, patay na mga tanim ko" "kaya nga uwi ako maaga ngayon kasi harvest time ko mamaya eh" while glancing at their wristwatches. I mean, it's crazy. Everyone's just crazy over it. Except me. I don't know what pleasure you guys get from planting, watering, and harvesting crops virtually. And I can't judge you for liking such activity 'cause for one, I haven't tried it ever. Here in Maui, we have vast farmlands. And by vast I mean hectares and hectares of land. I have been to one and it is among Monsanto's properties. Ahem! It is real-time Farmville right in front of me. I experienced genuine soil and real crops.True-blue fun under the sun! Too bad there were no cows. But there were lots of birds! Those which scarecrows uhmm..scare? haha. Daddy knows about the Farmville craze too. As soon as we got off the car and stood on the soil, he said, "Eto ang Farmville for real!" Disclaimer: This is not to make scornful judgments on Farmville fanatics. Just a mere expression of elation by the author for finally grasping the feeling of those who get addicted to Farmville (plus of course the idea that the experience was real-life). On the dot
NOT!!! One of the bad habits I swore not to do here in the US is being late on appointments. This is to mainly blur, if not erase, the Filipino-time connotation on us. After all, I am sticking my feet on the American soil so I better make a better impression of my origin. Okay. Last December my brother and I were scheduled for something this January 6th at 1:00PM. Because I wanted to avoid the wrong impression bestowed upon us and because they say they're prompt, we arrived two hours earlier than the given time. Fast forward... In short...no show up, no answering of phone calls. Great. A similar experience happened to my mom. She was scheduled for a job interview last December and was there 15 minutes early. There and there they reset the interview to January 6. Fast forward... Less than hour before the re-scheduled interview, they phoned my mom (who's all prepped up and ready to hit the door) to deliver the bad news. Interview shall be re-scheduled...again. I think it is about time to reverse the connotation; to finally invert the hourglass and pinpoint who's who. It is not true that Filipinos cannot do time management hence always become late. You see, what really happens here proves our indoctrination wrong. I think we actually learn a lot about time and impression management in school and not otherwise. We learn NOT TO BE what they say we are. Now who can't do time management? Who doesn't have word of honor? Us. Not!!! Wednesday, January 6, 2010, 12:15 AM
YM: 'Y'ou're 'M'ine
New Year of 2009. He left a message for me in YM. I keep it until now. *blushes* The smell of pulbura is still up in the air. Or maybe I choose to believe it is still there. Actually, new year of 2009 seemed just like months ago for me. Yes you read it right. It is 2009 not 2010. Chie and I are used to our long distance relationship setup even back in the Philippines. People heard me referring to it as the you're-so-near-yet-so-far gap. Manila and Laguna aren't far away from each other but a daily uber clogged traffic of the SLEX is a serious stonewall for us. Hence, I began to like YM. Now, the stonewall no longer chokes us 'cause we got a bigger foe-- the great pacific ocean. Monday, January 4, 2010, 11:20 PM
Heroic Vicodin Popper
I made a countdown to January 2 because according to USA Channel, HOUSE will be aired that day. My calendar and planner were marked. My phone was set to alarm at exactly 7PM. But when I punched into USA Network, they were airing a different show. And I was so disappointed (apart from being so sick) .
On Sunday evening I was bored and reached out to the boob tube to wake up my sleepy system. POOF!!! I saw HOUSE. And that night became the first best night of this year. Today I ended up listing the airing schedule of HOUSE for the month of January to February. Now, do you see a die-hard fan in me? I don't know why I love watching HOUSE. I'm not even a doctor and in no way do I understand medical terms. But now I'm liking the sight of blood and needles. Haha! Maybe I just like Gregory House's character in the series. Yeah, that's it! I like watching the Vicodin addict, self-centered, misanthropic doctor (not to mention he uses a cane to walk) diagnose patients with the most intricate and complex medical conditions.I like it when he makes rude comments and when he's cruel to everyone but himself; it makes me laugh really hard because I remember my thesis professor every time. I like the way he thinks; it sort of justifies my thoughts and attitudes at times. I like his statement, "Everyone lies."; it slaps back reality into my face. And sometimes I just hold onto that thought when everything seems effed up. Labels: House, USA Network |
the citygirl inme
is trying to live a country life now in the rainbow state of Hawaii. I am a city girl trapped in a county of less high rises to none. No bright lights at night. No loud noises of cars in busy streets. No parties. No nothing. |
